Over 40 Years of Expertise: An Italian Industrial Story

Founded in 1982 by Sandro Gialdi and Claudio Barbolini, the company started as a small food distribution business and gradually evolved into an industrial producer specializing in cooked meats, recognized as a leading player both for its own brand products and private label lines.
Today, the founding partners remain actively involved and are gradually transferring knowledge and responsibilities to the next generation, with the goal of preserving and enhancing the production know-how developed over the years.

Production Innovation and Environmental Responsibility

Inaugurated in 2018 and built from scratch, the Comal facility is a benchmark in industrial innovation. Automated lines, interconnected machinery, and integrated traceability ensure consistent quality, maximum food safety, and full control over production processes.

Alongside technological innovation, the company has implemented a concrete energy sustainability strategy: a 1,050 kWh photovoltaic system and a quadrigeneration system allow the production of approximately 95% of the plant’s energy needs, reducing environmental impact and ensuring greater operational stability.

Certified Safety and International Standards 

All products are gluten-free, dairy-free, and free from added phosphates. In 2024, Comal took a strategic step by eliminating added sugars across its entire cooked ham range—from premium lines to entry-level products—becoming the first Italian cured meat producer to offer this benefit consistently across its full portfolio.

This initiative is part of a structured quality system that oversees every stage of production, from raw material selection to final product inspection. An integrated traceability system continuously monitors each step, ensuring transparency, reliability, and ready-to-sell solutions for global buyers.
