Five openings on the same day, spread across North and South, will bring Action's total number of stores to 255 in Italy. On Saturday, September 26, the non-food discount chain will open in Affi, in the province of Verona; Orzivecchi and Treviglio, in Lombardy; Telese Terme, in the Benevento area; and Trani, in Puglia. The new openings will bring 86 new store staff to the team.
The move is part of the expansion of our Italian network, which began five and a half years ago. "Bringing our formula simultaneously to Veneto, Lombardy, Campania, and Puglia confirms the strength of our format and our desire to comprehensively meet ever-growing consumer demand," says Maurizio Oprandi, Action's general manager in Italy.
The five stores range in size from 809 to 948 square meters. The Affi store, in the Affi 2 Retail Park, measures 809 square meters and employs 19 people. In Lombardy, Orzivecchi opens in the La Girandola Retail Park with 948 square meters and 16 employees, while the store in the Treviglio shopping center occupies 812 square meters and employs 14 people.
In Telese Terme, the new store is located in the San Giovanni Retail Park: it has a floor space of 827 square meters and a team of 15. In Trani, along the provincial road to Andria, Action is opening a 948 square meter store with 22 employees.
The brand's stated assortment includes approximately 6.000 products in 14 categories, from household items to DIY, with 150 new items introduced each week. According to the company, over two-thirds of the products cost less than two euros. At the European level, Action has over 3.400 stores in 15 countries.
