KFC is opening a new restaurant in Parma, inside the Promenade shopping resort, which opened today, September 24th. The location, operated as a franchise by Just in Food, is located on Via Samuel Morse, bringing the chain's total number of restaurants in Emilia-Romagna to 10. The new opening creates 30 jobs.
The restaurant covers 400 square meters and seats 120. It will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., with dine-in, takeout, or home delivery options available through Deliveroo, Glovo, and Just Eat. For the first four days, KFC will distribute 2.500 coupons allowing visitors to try a product for free at the new location.
Parma Promenade is the first open-air shopping resort in Emilia-Romagna. The project combines over 70 stores with 15 restaurants, a dining terrace, sports and entertainment areas, and two plazas for events. For KFC, the development confirms the importance of shopping centers in selecting new locations: according to data released by the company, 89 of its 159 Italian restaurants are located there, representing approximately 56% of the total network.
"The opening of Parma Promenade represents a new step in KFC's growth in Italy, where shopping malls are one of its most important channels," said CEO Corrado Cagnola. In Emilia-Romagna, five of the chain's ten locations are located in shopping malls.
The Promenade location brings the total number of KFC restaurants in Parma and its province to three, all managed by Just in Food. The others are the one on Viale Gramsci, opening in 2023, and the one in the La Galleria shopping center, opening in 2024.
Nationally, KFC plans to open 35 locations in 2026, with the goal of reaching 185 by the end of the year. The company's announced plan includes approximately €35 million in investments and over 800 new jobs. The target for 2028 is 250 locations in Italy.
