The annual general meeting of shareholders of Ahold Delhaize approved the 2024 financial statements and some important appointments. The meeting was attended by 130 shareholders, representing approximately 620 million shares. An annual dividend of €1,17 per ordinary share was confirmed, up 6,4% compared to 2023. After the interim dividend already paid in August (€0,50), the remaining €0,67 will be paid on April 24, 2025.

During his speech, CEO Frans Muller highlighted the current difficult environment, between inflation and geopolitical tensions, but reiterated his confidence in the solidity of the group. He also announced the new four-year strategy “Growing Together”, based on six key priorities and focused on growth, digitalization and sustainability.

Among the actions planned for 2025: renovation and opening of new stores, strengthening of the omnichannel offer, greater investments in customer prices and digital transformation.

The meeting also approved the departure of Bill McEwan from the Supervisory Board, thanking him for his long-standing contribution. He will be replaced by Per Bank, CEO of Canadian giant Loblaw, who brings with him a long experience in international retail.
