For the 82th month in a row, Aldi has claimed the title of the cheapest supermarket in the UK, according to the latest survey by consumer group Which?. The analysis compared the price of a basket of 135,48 essential items, revealing that shopping at Aldi costs an average of £21,23, a whopping £20,11 less than Morrisons and £XNUMX less than Sainsbury's.
Even taking into account discounts linked to loyalty cards such as Clubcard (Tesco) or Nectar (Sainsbury's), Aldi remained the most convenient, even beating Lidl (with a discount) by a few cents.
The year-to-year comparison shows significant savings: by choosing Aldi over Waitrose, consumers could have saved almost £2.000 in a year. A significant difference, especially for those looking to save for summer holidays or unexpected expenses.
