Lidl has opened a new logistics hub in Ablis, southwest of Paris. With a surface area of 87.000 m², it is the largest facility of its category in Europe.
In an initial phase, the logistics center will supply around fifty Lidl stores in the Paris area. Construction took over seven years and the hub has now been officially inaugurated.

The facility has 5.800 m9.000 of office space and fourteen loading and unloading docks. It is designed to handle up to 10.000 pallets per day and handle XNUMX outgoing pallets per week. In light of Lidl's expansion plans in France, the center has been designed to accommodate increased demand.
The hub integrates sustainable solutions, with 92% of waste destined for recycling. The logistics organization provides that trucks, in addition to transporting goods, also collect waste to optimize each trip. In addition, a surface of 12.000 square meters of solar panels provides about a quarter of the energy needed by the building. By March, all fifteen “product cells” present in the structure should be fully operational.
