In the course of 2025 Day It has created approximately 900 new jobs in Spain, including directly operated and franchised stores, offices, and logistics platforms, consolidating its role as a local operator with strong local roots. These numbers confirm a growth strategy that puts people at the center and translates into a concrete contribution to the economic development of both urban and rural areas.
A distinctive element of the Dia model remains its focus on diversity and inclusion: in 2025, approximately 67% of new hires were women, who currently represent nearly 70% of the total workforce. At the same time, 46% of contracts involved people from vulnerable groups, while 36% of hires involved young people under 25, confirming a structural commitment to youth employment.
According to César Vázquez, Human Resources Director at Dia Spain, stores reflect the neighborhoods in which they operate, generating employment and entrepreneurship opportunities and strengthening the local socioeconomic fabric. This vision combines operational discipline and a long-term perspective, with corporate culture as a lever for growth and differentiation.
Looking to 2026, Dia expects the creation of approximately 1.200 new jobs, thanks to new openings, the development of the franchising network, the strengthening of e-commerce, and the full operation of logistics centers such as the one in León, which alone will employ approximately 200 people.
At the end of 2025, the group employed a total of over 25.000 people, including approximately 14.000 direct employees and another 11.000 professionals linked to the franchise network. Most employees work in stores, followed by logistics centers and central offices, supporting a shopping experience focused on proximity, efficiency, and service.
Dia's employment impact extends across the entire supply chain: for every direct job created, the company generates four jobs overall in the economy, with an estimated impact of over 100.000 jobs in Spain. In 2025, this commitment was also strengthened at the contractual level, with a union agreement that provides for progressive wage increases until 2028 and new welfare and work-life balance measures to support stable, quality employment.
