Less than nine years after entering the Italian market, dm has reached the 100th store mark and is preparing to further accelerate its network expansion. The milestone will be reached this summer with two openings in Emilia-Romagna: on July 30th in Savignano sul Rubicone, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, and on August 6th in Castenaso, just outside Bologna.

The Savignano sul Rubicone store, the brand's 99th in Italy, will open in the Romagna Shopping Valley Commercial Park. It will have a sales area of approximately 550 square meters and employ 13 people. The 100th store, planned for the Nova di Castenaso Commercial Park, will have a similar size and will employ a team of ten.

The two openings represent, above all, a symbolic step within a broader real estate plan. By the end of the summer, dm plans to open three more stores in Brescia, Parma, and Bassano del Grappa. The strategy remains focused, at least for this phase, on the Northern Italian regions and envisions developing between 15 and 20 new units each year.

The goal is to cover different formats and catchment areas: shopping malls, high-traffic streets, urban centers, and densely populated areas. An expansion policy that aims to increase the brand's physical proximity without tying itself to a single type of location, adapting the model to the characteristics of individual local markets.

Reaching 100 stores comes during a period of strong economic growth. In the fiscal year from October 2024 to September 2025, dm Italia recorded a turnover of €252 million, a 26,4% increase compared to the previous year. Over the last twelve months, the brand issued over 18,1 million receipts, a figure that reflects its progressive growth in the domestic market.

The workforce has also expanded along with the network. As of June 30, 2026, dm employed 1.111 female and male collaborators, including interns, an 11,66% increase year-over-year. The average age is 33, while women represent 86,5% of the company's workforce.

Physical growth has been accompanied by the development of digital services. After launching e-commerce in 2022, the drugstore introduced a digital loyalty card integrated into the "my dm" app in 2024, and collection points and the dm babybonus program in 2025. Registered accounts on the app have reached 1,26 million. The network remains the cornerstone of the model, while apps, loyalty programs, and e-commerce expand contact opportunities and guide consumers through planning and purchasing.

The brand's positioning is supported by an average assortment of approximately 13 products per store. The most dynamic categories are personal care, skincare, makeup, hair products, and certified organic food. These are areas where competition is increasingly based on composition, perceived quality, and transparency of information, as well as price.

The national supply chain is also gaining importance within the offering. dm collaborates with approximately 200 Italian suppliers and offers over 2 Made in Italy products. This presence allows the group to complement its own brands and international assortment with products more closely aligned with local consumer habits.

Network expansion continues alongside energy investments. More than 96% of stores and the headquarters use electricity from certified renewable sources, while 13 active photovoltaic systems are in operation. In 2025, the company also achieved ISO 50001 certification for energy management systems and continuous consumption monitoring.

The 100th store thus marks the conclusion of the brand's initial establishment phase and the beginning of a more mature era. After building the format's recognition, dm now aims to increase its territorial density, strengthen the integration between online and digital, and expand Italy's presence within a group present in 14 European countries.
