Despar Nord has closed a positive 2024 with a turnover to the public of 2,784 billion euros, marking a growth of 2,7% compared to the previous year. The group, active in Veneto, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Trentino-Alto Adige and Lombardy, has invested 76 million euros (+12% on 2023) to strengthen the commercial network and modernize the points of sale.
The expansion resulted in 17 new openings – 5 direct and 12 affiliated – and 18 renovations, with a direct impact on employment: 465 new hires brought the total workforce to 9.750 collaborators, 62% of whom were women.
“We continue our path of evolution and strengthening our ties with the territories,” said Christof Rissbacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Despar Nord. “We invest to improve our offering, support local entrepreneurship and promote a widespread economy.”
Confirming the attention to sustainability and the valorization of local products, the project “Sapori del Territorio” continues, which today counts 4.000 references from over 550 producers. There is also a strong push on branded products, which represent 33% of the turnover of direct sales points.
On the social front, the company has allocated over 480.000 euros to cultural, sports and solidarity initiatives, with over 1.100 tons of food recovered and redistributed thanks to the collaboration with Last Minute Market and Banco Alimentare. Despar Nord now looks to 2025 "with confidence and responsibility, to continue investing in innovation, community and sustainability", concludes Rissbacher.
