It is the beginning of a new phase of growth and development the operation officially signed yesterday between Sabelli and Mila, which allows the entry into the Sabelli Group of Stella Bianca, a Lombardy company specialized in very fresh cheeses from 100% Italian milk. Not a mere financial operation but a wide-ranging industrial synergy, based on a communion of intent, on shared values and objectives and on a common philosophy linked to attention, respect and quality, distinctive characteristics of both companies involved in the agreement.
Both companies are leaders in the Italian dairy sector and have complementary products that make up a wide, high-profile range: Sabelli, in fact, is among the leaders in the production of mozzarella, burrata and stracciatella, while Stella Bianca produces crescenza, robiola, spreadable and goat cheeses, very fresh cheeses that require the greatest attention in every phase of production and distribution. A point of reference for the Private Label market, Stella Bianca also brings Bustaffa, a historic Mantua company founded by Giacobbe Bustaffa in 1921.
An Italian Family History
In the same year, 1921, Sabelli laid the first stone of what would become the company of the same name, now in its fourth generation. Stella Bianca also has its roots in a family tradition. Founded by a family from Lodi in 1978, the Lombard company has built its growth on values that it shares with Sabelli. “This agreement represents not only an expansion of our production capacity, but also a meeting of common values and traditions. We share with Stella Bianca a passion for excellence and respect for the territory and our consumers” – say Angelo Galeati and Simone Mariani, CEO of Sabelli. “The new development opportunities that arise thanks to joining the Sabelli Group open up prospects – production, industrial and commercial – of great interest. Together, we will be able to further strengthen our offering and explore new markets”, comments Bruno Marchesi, General Manager of Stella Bianca.
A virtuous supply chain
Sabelli's utmost attention to sustainability and the quality of the raw material, which gave rise to the ambitious project "Il Buono del Bianco", is reflected in the controlled supply chain of Stella Bianca. With 100% Italian milk collected in the surrounding areas and a strict supervision of the supply chain, the two companies guarantee extremely high standards for the entire production. Stella Bianca has also had an organic milk supply chain for 25 years, a source of pride for the entire group.
Products according to tradition
Both companies share the same commitment and devotion to the Italian dairy tradition. Both Sabelli and Stella Bianca use lactic ferments to process their cheeses, a technique that guarantees a genuine and high-quality product.
Development Prospects
With the acquisition of Stella Bianca, Sabelli intends to develop a wide-ranging industrial strategy, with the expansion to adjacent segments with respect to the core business. Not only for PL but also for Sabelli branded products. “With the acquisition we will be able to further push this growth perspective with new developments – conclude the CEOs of Sabelli – We have a large production capacity still to be exploited, which will allow us to outline a path of increase, both in terms of volumes and innovation”.
